Create a test definition

Create a test definition to define tests that can help troubleshoot a problem encountered by a particular type of service or product model. For example, use a speed test to troubleshoot the internet-related issues.

Before you begin

Role required: admin

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > Service Test Management > Test Definitions > All.

  2. Select New.

  3. On the form, fill in the fields.

FieldDescription
NumberAuto-generated ID for the test definition.
NameName of the test definition.
OwnerName of the person who is responsible for maintaining this definition.
State

State of the test definition.- Draft

Unpublished draft service test definition that is assigned when you first create the definition record.

  • Published

Published service test definition that is assigned when you formally publish it for use.

The service test definition and the related tables cannot be modified in the published state.

  • Retired

Service test definition that is retired.

  • Archived

Service test definition is no longer used in diagnosing process.

Published onDate on which the test definition is published.
Retired onDate on which the test definition is retired.
DescriptionDescription for the test definition.
  1. Select Submit.
