Create a report using an aggregation

To visualize and analyze the data specific to an aggregation that you created, generate a report by providing a condition for the aggregation in the condition builder.

Before you begin

Role required: pa_admin

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > Reports > Create New.

  2. In the Data tab, fill in the fields.

    FieldDescription
    Report nameName of the report.
    Source typeType of the source from which data is fetched. Select Table.
    TableName of the table for which the aggregation is created. Select the aggregated results table Aggregated Result [sn_vul_cmn_aggregate_result].
  3. In the condition builder, set the condition for your aggregation for which you want to generate a report.

    PartDescription
    FieldSelect Aggregation.
    OperatorSelect is.
    ValueName of the aggregation.
  4. In the Data tab, select Next.

  5. In the Types tab, select how you want to visualize the data and select Next.

    For more information on the report types, see Creating Reports.

    The supported visualizations are bar chart, pie chart, and heatmap. You can modify the line graphs and other trends visualizations to make use of the supported visualizations with aggregated result to represent the same data. List view is not supported.

  6. In the Configure tab, fill in the fields.

FieldDescription
Group byGroups the data by the field selected.Here, select the field that you chose in the Grouped by 1 field in the configure-indicator-for-source-data.md tab of the aggregation.
Stack by

Organizes data in layers based on the field selected. Here, select the field that you chose in the Grouped by 2 field in the configure-indicator-for-source-data.md tab of the aggregation.

Note: Only bar and horizontal bar reports use stacked data. Other report types allow only grouping.

AggregationApply Minimum or Maximum function on Value.
  1. In the Style tab, fill in the fields as appropriate and select Run.

  2. In the condition builder, set the condition for your aggregation for which you want to generate a report and select Run.

    The report displays.

  3. To sort the values on the X-axis, select Add sort.

    1. For strings, provide the condition as Grouped by > a-z or z-a to sort the strings in an alphabetical order.

    2. For integer and date data type values, provide the condition as Grouped by.sort > a-z or z-a to sort the values in ascending and descending order respectively.

3.  Select **Run**.

Report for Aggregation
  1. Select Save to save your report.

    The report that is generated for an aggregation displays in the Results tab of the respective Aggregation form.

  2. Add your report to a dashboard.

    For more information on how to add a report to a dashboard, see Add a report to a responsive dashboard.

    The Vulnerability Management[Aggregated] dashboard consisting of reports created using the cached reporting framework is shipped with the base system. To view this dashboard, navigate to All > Performance Analytics > Dashboards > All > Vulnerability Management[Aggregated]. The active aggregations corresponding to the reports in this dashboard are shipped with the base system.

  3. Share your report with other users.
