Working with Global styles

Global styles enable you to edit and define core design elements like fonts, colors, and shapes that apply across your entire theme.

The Global styles panel is the central workspace for defining the foundational visual elements of your theme. It enables you to configure and preview key design tokens such as color palettes, typography, shape and form, and imagery that apply consistently across your entire experience.

The Global styles panel contains five tabs:

  • Overview: Displays a snapshot of your theme's current settings for each core style category.
  • Color: Define the primary, secondary, and neutral color palette for the theme. Automatically generated UI colors can be customized as needed.
  • Imagery: Upload and configure logos for headers, login screens, and other branded areas.
  • Typography: Update the fonts applied globally to your experience. The fonts are used in headlines, titles, subtitles, body text, and captions.
  • Shape: Update the corner shapes of on-screen components.

  • Edit your theme colors
Edit and update your theme's core colors to create visual consistency and align with your brand.

  • Edit corner shapes
Edit and change the corner shapes applied globally to components such as buttons, modals, and drop-down menus throughout your Theme Builder theme.
  • Edit your default font
Edit your default font family and choose from the predefined options in Theme Builder or your own custom fonts.
  • Assign fonts by component category
Assign fonts to specific component categories to create a clearer visual hierarchy and ensure consistent typography across related UI elements.
  • Edit font size
Adjust font sizes at the theme or component category level to refine default or custom fonts and keep your brand consistent across all experiences.
  • Upload a custom font to your theme
Upload and preview up to 10 custom font families and an unlimited number of associated font faces in your Theme Builder theme.
  • Upload a new logo to your Theme Builder theme
If you previously applied a custom or default ServiceNow logo to your theme during theme creation, you can upload a new one in Theme Builder.
