Comparing user records

Compare user records to understand the access between two users.

Before you begin

Role required: access_analyzer_admin

The following procedure describes the steps for comparing user records using the Access Analyzer.

Note: Access Analyzer is a ServiceNow® Store product.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > Access Analyzer > Analyze Permissions.

  2. On the Analyze access and permissions homepage, select the Compare user records tab.

  3. Select user 1 and user 2 for comparison.

    For example, ITIL User as user 1 and Abel Tuter as user 2.

  1. Click Compare user records.

    The results show in the Details, Roles, and Groups tabs:

    • Details: Displays the user's metadata.

-   **Roles**: Displays the roles that are assigned to the user. You can select the role to know more about the role and its entitlements.

-   **Groups**: Displays the groups that are assigned to the user. You can select the group to know more about the group and its entitlements.

Group
Similarly, you can compare different users in the ServiceNow instance to understand the access that's assigned to them.
