Create a needs template and set the catalog relationship

Define a needs template for a decision tree and associate the template with the product catalog to which it belongs.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_prd_pm.product_catalog_manager, sn_prd_pm.product_catalog_admin

Procedure

  1. In the CSM Configurable Workspace, select the List

  1. Navigate to Needs > Needs Template and select New.

    On the form, fill in the fields.

FieldDescription
NumberUnique system-assigned number that identifies the needs template.
NameName of the needs template, for example Home Tech Product Selection Guide.
Decision treeName of the decision tree that has the questionnaire to determine customer product needs.
DescriptionBrief description of the needs template.
Start dateDate and time that the needs template becomes effective and is listed in the product selection catalog.
End dateDate and time that the needs template is no longer effective and not listed in the product selection catalog.
StateStage of the needs template:- Draft: Initial state of the needs template. The template hasn’t been published yet. - Published: Template has been published. After a template is published, you can update or delete it.
  1. Select Save.

    The Needs Template Relationship tab opens. The needs template is also listed in the Needs Template list.

  2. In the Needs Template Relationship tab, set the catalog relationship.

    1. Select New, which opens the Create New Needs Template Relationship form.

    2. In the Catalog field, select the published Product Offering Catalog to which this needs template belongs.

    3. Select Save.

      The selected catalog name is listed under the Catalog field in the Needs Template Relationships section.

  3. Select Publish to make the specified catalog available in the product selection guide.
