Add a dashboard data visualization to the library

To make a data visualization on a dashboard reusable, or to be able to edit it in the Visualization Designer, add it to the data visualization library.

Before you begin

Role required: itil, report_user, viz_creator, or higher, and the right to edit the dashboard

About this task

You may want to add a data visualization that exists only as a local copy on an in-line dashboard to the data visualization library. You may want to do this to make the data visualization available to add to other dashboards. You may also want to be able to edit the data visualization in the Visualization Designer, as described in Open a visualization in the Visualization Designer from a dashboard.

Procedure

  1. Open the relevant dashboard for editing.

  2. Locate or create the relevant data visualization.

    See Creating data visualizations.

  3. Expand the data visualization 3-dot menu.
