Enable DEX browser extension

Activate the DEX Chrome or Edge Extension on your system to collect different operational or performance-based metrics for the web applications.

Before you begin

Confirm that the DEX plugin [sn_dex] is installed.

Confirm that the browser versions are Google Chrome 114 or higher, and Microsoft Edge version 96 or higher.

Note: DEX browser extension requires the permission to read and change all your data on all websites.

Role required: sn_dex.admin

Procedure

  1. Perform the following steps to install DEX Browser Extension based on your browser.

Google Chrome
  1. Navigate to DEX Browser Extension.
  2. Select Add to Chrome.
  3. On the confirmation window, select Add extension.
Microsoft Edge
  1. Navigate to DEX Browser Extension.
  2. Select Get.
  3. On the confirmation window, select Add extension.

Result

The Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge extension is enabled by default, and when monitoring of the web applications begins, the collected metrics are sent to the ServiceNow instance.
