Create an automation source

Create an automation source to start importing data from any third-party tool.

Before you begin

Role required: flow_designer, delegated_developer, sn_ac.automation_technical_user, or sn_ac.automation_admin

About this task

The following steps must be followed in the same order to create an automation source in Automation Center.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Workspaces > Automation Center Workspace.

    The Automation Center dashboard is displayed.

  2. Select the Connection Manager icon (

  1. Select New source.

    The Add automation source page is displayed. Perform the following steps in the same order.

  2. Define source for automation
    Define the source that you want to add for your automations.

  3. Configuring data import
    Configure the details of the data import, such as the kind of data, the schedule of the import, and so on.
  4. Align source and destination fields
    Align the source and destination fields to ensure that the selected output from the selected action align correctly with ServiceNow tables enabling accurate integration of automation data.
  5. Aligning source and destination values
    Align source and destination values for precise data representation in Automation Center.
  6. Review and activate automation source
    Review all configurations for the automation source, and then activate the automation source.
