Create a walkthrough

After defining a control, audit managers create walk throughs that will be conducted to observe and provide documented evidence of whether the associated control is operating correctly.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_audit.admin and sn_audit.manager

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > Audit > Engagements > All Engagements.

  2. Open the engagement for the audit task you want to create.

    Assign audit tasks to engagement in one of the following states:

    • Validate
    • Fieldwork
    • Awaiting approval
    • In the Audit Tasks Related List, click New.
  3. In the Audit Tasks Interceptor, click Walkthrough.

  4. On the form, fill in the fields.

State- Open - Work in Progress - Review - Closed Complete - Closed Incomplete - Closed Skipped
ParentParent audit task.
Assigned toUser assigned to this walkthrough.
Short descriptionBrief description of the walkthrough.
DescriptionDetailed explanation of the walkthrough.
Schedule
Planned start dateIntended date the walkthrough should begin.
Planned end dateIntended date the walkthrough should end.
Planned durationExpected duration of this walkthrough. As with actual duration, the planned duration shows total activity time and takes the walkthrough schedule into consideration.
Actual start dateDate that this walkthrough began.
Actual end dateDate that this walkthrough ended.
Actual durationDuration of the walkthrough from start to end.
Walkthrough
Primary ContactUser to contact for this walkthrough.
Other ContactsOther users to contact for this walkthrough, if the primary contact is unavailable.
Execution StepsDetail the activities to be performed during the walkthrough.
ExplanationIntended purpose of the walkthrough.
Additional InformationAdditional information the user conducting the walkthrough needs to be aware of.
ResultsDetails of what transpired during the walkthrough.
Activity
Additional commentsCustomer-viewable comments.
Work notesComments that are viewable by the audit manager and audit manager.
Confidentiality
ConfidentialOption to enable confidentiality of the record. Only the assigned confidential users or confidential groups of users can access the record. For more information on confidential option, see Confidentiality flag for audit and compliance records.
  1. Click Submit.
