Create a test plan in Audit Workspace

Create a test plan to document the control testing procedure. You can create a test plan from scratch or based on a test template to describe how a feature is to be tested.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_audit.manager, sn_audit_ws.supervisor, sn_audit_ws.auditor, sn_audit.user

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > Audit > Audit Workspace.

  2. Click Create and select Test plan from the Home page.

    You can also create a test plan by navigating to the Audit workspace List page.

2.  Click **Test plans** in the Execution list.
3.  Click **New**.
You can also create a test plan from an engagement that is in **Validate** or **Fieldwork** state by selecting the test plan and clicking the **Generate Control Tests** button in the Test plans related list.

  1. To change the content of the test plan to the content in the test template, click Revert to template button.

  2. On the form, fill in the fields.

FieldDescription
NumberUnique identification number.
NameName of the test plan.
ControlThe control that this test plan covers.
EntityEntity is auto-populated based on the value selected in the Control field.
Test templateRelated test template.If you select a test template, all the fields in the Design test and Operational test sections are populated with the test template values.
DurationExpected duration of the test.
Design test
Design expectationsBasic requirement that should be met for a control to be effective.
Design assessment proceduresProcedure or steps to be followed to conclude whether the design of the control is effective to achieve the control objective or not. This is based on the design expectation.
Operational test
Operational expectationsExpectations that should be met to ensure that the control is operating effectively to achieve the control objective.
Operational assessment proceduresDetailed steps, to carry out the operational expectations, which need to be performed to conclude that the control is operating successfully.

  1. Click Save.
