Reopen a closed legal request

Reopen a request if you're not satisfied with the resolution given by the legal team.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_lg_ops.legal_user

About this task

As a requester, you can only reopen your requests that have been closed (Close Complete or Closed Incomplete). You cannot reopen a request that has been canceled.

Note: The option to reopen is not available for approval-based workflow legal requests, such as stock preclearance approval, conflict of interest disclosure, and non-disclosure agreement with third parties.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > Employee Center.

    Note: If you’re using Legal Service Portal, open a request by navigating to the Legal Service Portal and selecting My Requests > View all requests from the header.

  2. Select My Requests from the header.

  3. Select the legal request from the list.

  4. On the Standard Ticket page, click Reopen Request to open the request.

  5. In the dialog box, enter comments to explain why you are reopening the request in the Reason field.

  6. Click Reopen Request.

Result

The request is reopened, and its state changes to Work in Progress. The request is reassigned to the same legal team member to whom it was previously assigned.

If the administrator has configured email notifications, the assigned user, practice area lead, assignment group manager,and any collaborators added to the request will receive notifications about the reopening of the request by the requester. If the legal request assignment group permissions is not No Access then all assignment group members also notified.
