Submit a JSA from Employee Center

Submit a job safety analysis (JSA) to identify potential hazards and control measures related to these hazards at your point-of-work.

Before you begin

Role required: sn_hs_rm.jsa_reporter

About this task

Employees can also submit JSAs from their mobile device using the ServiceNow® Now Mobile app. For more information, see Submit a JSA through the Now Mobile app.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > Self-Service > Employee Center.

  2. Select the Health and Safety menu.

  3. Create a JSA.

OptionSteps
From Health and Safety menuTo start a JSA from scratch:1. Under Health and Safety menu, select Job safety analysis. 2. Select Submit a JSA. An empty JSA form opens.
From a previously submitted JSATo reuse a JSA that you submitted previously to save time:1. Under the Quick links, select View my JSAs. 2. In the list, open the JSA that you want to copy. 3. Select Copy JSA. A JSA form with values copied from the previous JSA opens.
  1. On the form, fill in the fields.

    1. Enter details of the job or task you're about to start.​

    2. Add any identified hazards.​

    3. Add any control measures that are in place.

      Tip: Select a job in the Select job field to auto-populate predefined hazards and controls for your job type and quickly submit your JSA. For more information about pre-defined jobs, see Job register.

    4. Add any employees or workers who have been informed along with your comments or attachments.

  2. Select Submit.

Result

  • The JSA is submitted for your job or task. To view your submitted JSAs, navigate to the Health and Safety menu in the Employee Center and then the View my JSAs quick link.
  • The JSA is also listed in the JSAs list on Health and Safety Workspace. A risk manager [sn_hs_rm.jsa_manager] can view all the filed JSAs by navigating to the Health and Safety Workspace and selecting the risk management icon (
