Configuring Contract Management Pro

Install and configure foundational data for Contract Management Pro to effectively manage contract lifecycle for your organization.

Configuration overview

This section provides a guided overview of all foundational setup tasks, from installing the application and integrating key tools, to defining contract types, templates, and repository rules.

1. Install Contract Management Pro

   Install the  Contract Management Pro application. The application installs related  ServiceNow® Store applications and plugins, if they aren’t already installed.

2. Set up record producers for legal contracts

   Create a record producer and specify base system settings so users can initiate contract request to seek legal department's guidance on legal contracts.

3. Configure the Microsoft Word add-in for ServiceNow Contracts

   Configure the Microsoft Word add-in for ServiceNow Contracts so that you can setup contract templates in Microsoft Word.

4. Configuring external applications for Contract Management Pro

   Set up external application in Contract Management Pro to support electronic signature and external storage.

5. Create a contract type

   Define various types of contract used in your organization and associate it with a contract model.

6. Configure templates for a contract and amendment request in Contract Management Pro

   Create a contract template to add content controls for contract metadata, clauses, signatories, and dynamic tables. Contract documents in own-paper requests are generated from these contract templates based on contract type and other applicable rules.

7. Define an internal signatory rule

   Define an internal signatory rule to specify signatories for a contract template.

8. Configure contract template rules

   Define rules to select contract templates for generating contract documents in a contract request.

9. Configure contract repository

   Define a contract repository and map it to a specific table to store the executed contracts.

10. (Optional) Configure additional features in Contract Management Pro

    Set up these configurations to explore other useful capabilities in Contract Management Pro such as, enabling email notifications, related lists in contract requests, generating audit certificate, and activating contract workspace.
