The Now Assist for EA application includes the skills and features of generative AI that enable you to summarize text in Architectural Decision Records (ADR) or help gather insights into business applications.

Skills

The Now Assist for Enterprise Architecture (EA) application includes the generative AI skills and features that enable Enterprise Architecture Workspace users to leverage Now Assist skills for artifacts.

• Architectural Decision Record (ADR) summarization

  Provides you with a concise and informative summary of the selected or complete text by using  Now Assist  in Docs. Use the ADR doc summarization and actions skill in the Enterprise Architecture Workspace to summarize text in ADR artifacts. You can also further shorten or elaborate the summary using the context menu option available on selection of the text in the ADR doc. You can insert summary, shorten text, or elaborated text in the ADR document to update it.

• Business application insights

  Learn the details of business applications and gather concise and actionable insights on business applications from the summary that is generated by Now Assist for Enterprise Architecture (EA). Help minimize the time that you spend to learn about critical details of business applications like purpose, risk, cost, and recommendations for rationalization.

• Compare Enterprise Modeling and Visualization diagrams

  Compare different versions of Enterprise Modeling and Visualization diagrams and learn the details of the differences from the summary. You can compare business application hierarchy, business capability map, and business process map diagrams.

• Elaborate or shorten content in form fields

  Elaborate or shorten text in the description or reasoning fields in forms. You can also use prompts to generate content for the Reasoning field found in Planned Disposition section of a business application form.

• Create diagram from image

  Generate a business process map in Enterprise Modeling and Visualization diagram from an uploaded image. Now Assist identifies shapes, pools, lanes, and connections from the image to create an editable business process map diagram in the Enterprise Architecture Workspace.

You can use Now LLM Service, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude on AWS as the AI model provider for all generative AI skills and AI agents. Use the Configuration Controls in AI Control Tower to define which options are available, then set the skill-level preferences in the Now Assist Admin console.   The Enterprise Architecture query agent answers natural language questions about your enterprise architecture portfolio, returning AI-generated answers grounded into their Enterprise Architecture data.

  Use the ServiceNow AI lens skill to generate a business process map (BPM) diagram automatically by uploading an image of an existing process diagram from any tool.
