Preview an app file in ServiceNow Studio

Preview app files in ServiceNow Studio before publishing to confirm that the file looks and functions as expected. Only files with a user interface support preview.

Before you begin

Role required: admin or delegated_developer

About this task

Use preview to verify how an app file looks and behaves before it reaches end users. Files with preview capabilities open directly in preview mode in ServiceNow Studio, bypassing the record view.

Begin or continue a conversation with Build Agent to edit previewed files through a conversational interaction. For more information, see Use Build Agent.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > App Engine > ServiceNow Studio.

  2. Preview files from the App details page or from within an open file.

  1. Open an application in the canvas.
  2. Next to the file you want to preview, select the more options icon

Result

Review the file for layout, functionality, and content errors. Return to the canvas to make corrections, then reopen the preview to verify changes.
